This $42 million, 65,000 square-foot facility is the nation’s first independent research facility focused solely on understanding the connection between aging and chronic disease. The building incorporates three above-ground stories and a subterranean level. The new building adds to the Institute's existing 185,000-square-foot research facility and consists of laboratories, offices, conference rooms, a fitness center and cafeteria. Using the construction manager/multi-prime general contractor (CM/GC) model, the facility includes labs and is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification. Kitchell is also providing commissioning services for this facility.
