Last week, Kitchell joined Valleywise Health to commemorate the demolition of their historic medical center—an anchor in the community for more than 50 years.

As the site clears for what’s next, we’re proud to continue our partnership with Valleywise following the 2024 completion of their 678,000 SF replacement bed tower. The next chapter of healing is underway—and we’re honored to help bring it to life.

Rebuilding with purpose—we’re proud to help br Rebuilding with purpose—we’re proud to help bring Fire Station 5 back to life for the City of Santa Rosa, California. Destroyed in the 2017 Tubbs Fire just after it opened, the station is rising again — thanks to HUD funding via a CDBG grant and a dedicated team. This project is more than bricks and mortar; it’s a symbol of resilience, renewal, and community strength. A long-overdue home for the firefighters who never stopped serving.

When health and growth go hand in hand, communitie When health and growth go hand in hand, communities thrive.

Kitchell CEO Wendy Cohen moderated a dynamic panel on Building Healthy Communities at this morning’s Valley Partnership Breakfast, exploring the powerful intersection of healthcare and economic development.

Joined by moderators Steve Purves (Valleywise Health), Steve Lester (Mayo Clinic Discovery Oasis), and Julie Johnson (Colliers), along with guest speaker Beth Kohler (Arizona Association of Health Plans), the discussion covered:

• Why healthcare infrastructure fuels regional growth
• The urgent need for a strong healthcare workforce pipeline
• How Medicaid reform affects us all

As Arizona’s population surges, so does the demand for smarter, healthier, more resilient communities—and Kitchell is proud to help build them.

When logistics challenge the norm, innovation step When logistics challenge the norm, innovation steps in.

To construct the Grand Challenges Research Building at the University of Arizona, the Kitchell | ZGF | BWS Design-Build team reimagined the façade—prefabricating 245 panels off-site to streamline installation, preserve aesthetics, and maintain University operations. From Arizona’s first pre-glazed floor-to-ceiling window panels to a LEAN-driven assembly-line approach, this project redefines how design and construction challenges spark innovation.
