A new $516 million, 556,961 SF, AB 900-funded design-build main prison expansion (infill) consisting of two semi-autonomous facilities housing 1,584 Level II inmates. The project also included a wastewater treatment plant upgrade and an electrical system upgrade delivered using the traditional design-bid-build method. The new infill project is enclosed within a microwave perimeter detection system and is sited adjacent to the existing prison. The facility consists of a total of 24 buildings, including two rethermalazation kitchens with dining halls, intake with vehicle sallyport, receiving release and property storage, outpatient clinic with medical, dental and mental health, academic and vocational education, library, visiting and religious programs. Program Support Services buildings are LEED Gold Certified and other sub-project components are LEED Silver Certified.
