A new $516 million, 544,000 SF, AB 900-funded main prison expansion (infill) consisting of two semi-autonomous facilities that house 1,584 Level II inmates. Also included was a wastewater treatment plant upgrade and an electrical system upgrade delivered using the traditional design-bid-build method. The new infill project is enclosed within a microwave perimeter detection system and is sited adjacent to the existing prison and designed to house Level II general population inmates. The facility includes two rethermalazation kitchens with dining halls, intake with vehicle sallyport, receiving release and property storage; outpatient clinic with medical, dental and mental health, academic and vocational education, library, visiting and religious programs. The facility is currently pursuing LEED Silver certification.
